"...As I opened the Nude M49, I had to educate myself. "What's this clone? Oh....no one has been game enough to clone this yet..." I soon realised that this was a rare and discontinued mic from 1949 that even Neumann themselves were not confident enough to remake... $2000 AUD for a Nude mic? That's a bit off brand....BUT HANG ON, this is their best ever! Stunning build, accessories are on point, and the sound is lush! Surprise, surprise, Neumann decided to remake their version...but at $12,000 AUD....no thanks, I'll take the Nude mic any day. In fact, I'll take two! I've used it on Double Bass, Drum mono overhead, female and male vocals, and acoustic guitars — Is there anything it's not good on?!? Bravo Nude Microphones, you have made your best mic yet!..."

"...I received the Nude M49 in January and I have to say it is really a beautiful microphone. I have experience with the Neumann M49 and the Flea 49 ,  and the Nude version really compares favorably with my recollections of those microphones. Construction quality appears top-notch and the mic clip is very sturdy.  Mic feels solid and very professional to work with. 

The mic needless to say has a delightful warmth to it, without ever sounding muddy, even close up. Very low self-noise.  Transients are well translated and if it is a very forgiving microphone in terms of placement. My favorite application thus far is vocals and acoustic guitar and I also recorded some saxophone parts with excellent results. Warm, smooth and detailed and never harsh is the way I would describe it, pairs well with passive Pultec-style eqs.

Overall I am very well pleased with this purchase and I would like to add that Nude has superlative customer service. I purchased a C12 from them which I believe had a faulty tube and they immediately shipped out a replacement no fuss no bother - exceptional in this day and age! I certainly will be purchasing from them in the future!..."
