NUDE M49

This mic is our dedication to the revered M49 - a true “desert island” tube condenser that’s been a first-call vocal mic for generations, and just as at home on strings, piano, room duties and acoustic instruments when you want that unmistakable big, finished, expensive sound.

We’ve kept that spirit alive here with nine polar patterns, stepped from omni through cardioid to figure-8 (and the sweet spots in between) set on the power supply unit. This is a flagship build for us, so we’ve gone all-in on parts and execution. At the heart of the NUDE M49 is a high quality K47-type capsule: a single backplate, centre termination design with high-grade alloy clamping rings, and a dual-diaphragm 6-micron gold mylar assembly, the architecture behind that familiar “present but never pokey/gnarly” midrange and the effortlessly flattering top end. Drive is a GE 5654W military-grade sub-miniature tube, paired with carefully chosen premium capacitors (including mica and Vishay) and a 10:1 Dual-Bobbin BV11-style transformer delivering compelling presence, depth and dimension.

We believe we’ve struck the right balance of high-end components, engineering discipline, and a faithful sonic fingerprint - at the price point that NUDE has become synonymous with. We deliver: Low Cost, Superb Sonic Quality, and this is the most ambitious microphone we’ve released to date.
